Why are you involved in Jewish Life at Mason?

 

As I was in the process of making my final college decision, I was introduced to a student named Hailey from Mason Hillel. Her welcoming spirit, enthusiasm about Hillel and all she shared about Jewish life on campus is what made me choose GMU to be my home. In the last year, I’ve spent more time in the Hillel office than any other single location on campus. I have truly found my people and can’t wait to create many more meaningful memories with them in the future

  

Favorite Mason Hillel tradition?

 

My favorite Mason Hillel tradition has to be Shabbat candle lighting. During Friday night services when we light candles, the room goes silent as we join together to welcome in the beautiful light of Shabbat as a community.
